What a wonderful day!!!! The kids and I attended a homeschool day at the NC zoo.
They offer a 4 part class throughout the year. Each class has animal ambassadors along with many educational activities. We have thoroughly enjoyed attending. You also get free entry into the zoo with your ticket so yay!
Today we intacted with several snakes, two of which were pythons and unfortunately I can't remember the other two. There was a Native NC snake identification activity along with a hands on craft. I think I enjoyed the Animal Ambassadors more than the kids who seemed to enjoy the craft 🤣
Afterwards we hit the zoo. Lucky enough for us we have been to the zoo so many times that there wasn't a whole lot on our must do list. The kids were desperately wanting to try the air hike but unfortunately they were a few inches too short.
Despite today being chaotic with what seemed like every elementary and middle school in North Carolina, attending the zoo we had a blast!!! The weather was great, we saw the elephants the closest EVER!! The Giraffes were out and we don't typically get to see them.
However, the highlight for my kids was the amazing kids zone full of climbing, mud making, and a stream that the kids can play in. They spent hours damning, rebuilding and moving rocks. While interacting with the other kids. It was such a great experience. Don't ever miss a chance to visit the NC Zoo

Right after this picture was taken we witnessed them pooping and peeing. Which might sound a little weird to be excited about but it really just sealed the deal on the whole experience. I now no longer need an African Safari.
I'm still learning this blog thing so my photos are out of order and I'm too tired to fix it.

Just a little Dam Engineering
